TO THE SECRETARY OF THE AIR FORCE
THE HONORABLE JAMES G. ROCHE
Dear Dr. Roche,
It has been nearly three decades since you commanded the USS Buchannon.
We congratulate you on your new position as Secretary of the Air Force, and thank you - a retired Navy captain - for your many years of service to our country.
You have always been concerned with the well-being of the service members under your command. Thus, we appeal to you now to intervene in the case of Airman 1st Class Kenneth Betts.
Please note our lead story: MILITARY "INJUSTICE" AT McGUIRE.
Our investigation uncovered gross violations of this young Korean-American airman's legal rights by an over-zealous and out-of-control O.S.I., (Office of Special Investigations).
The O.S.I.'s disgraceful conduct in the interrogation of a 17 year-old Canadian girl, Airman Bett's girlfriend, as to their "sex life" together, borders on the pornographic.
While we in America try to foster good feelings with our neighbor to the north, an incident like this could damage relations between our two countries.
The O.S.I. agents involved should be fired and the OIC detachment commander reprimanded. As for the base commander, it might be a good idea for him to report directly to you as to why such behavior is tolerated on his installation.
We ask you to grant Airman Betts a General Discharge Under Honorable Conditions so he can leave the Air Force and get on with his life. He has no desire, after all he's been put through, to remain in "Air Force blue." I am sure you can understand why.
As for McGuire Air Force Base, we receive more complaints from service-members there than any other installation in CONUS and overseas. Perhaps you can ask the commanding officer there WHY?
We regret to inform you that our investigation into the Betts case also turned up allegations of not just scandal, but CRIMINAL ACTIVITY at McGuire, on a massive scale.
Since this is a public communication, you can understand why we cannot go into detail here, HOWEVER, by the time you read this, rest assured that MilitaryCorruption.com will have notified the appropriate authorities at the FBI to open their own investigation into this matter.
We do this to avoid the risk of cover-up and concealment on the part of DOD or local IG's, the O.S.I., or even perhaps members of the command structure at McGuire.
This is in no way any reflection on the thousands of honest, dedicated and patriotic men and women at McGuire Air Force Base who have never dishonored their uniform or betrayed their country. To them, all of the combat veterans at MilitaryCorruption.com render a grateful and heartfelt SALUTE!
MAJ Glenn MacDonald, USAR (Ret)
